East Sussex BIM Healthcare Case Study

Case Study: Using BIM in the Healthcare Sector for NHS Hospitals

This case study will explain how East Sussex Healthcare Trust have been using BIM to effectively deliver their state-of-the-art MRI Scanning facility. Part of a modular development process in the Conquest Hospital, Hasting.

The main BIM contractors on this project were the Digital Engineering Studio.  They were responsible for the creation of fully coordinated, clash detected MEP models and drawings during the construction and handover phase of the project.

REBIM software team is due to be working with the Trust to deliver an efficient handover from Construction stage to the … Read More “Case Study: Using BIM in the Healthcare Sector for NHS Hospitals”

Digital Common Data Environment

The Benefits of a Common Data Environment for BIM in the Energy & Nuclear Industries

Engineering and design processes are increasingly being digitised in the energy industry.

Static documents, spreadsheets and databases are getting translated and connected, and insights gained from their analysis are driving improvements across the sector.

In addition, new technologies, systems and processes are adding complexity to energy facility designs, while financial and regulatory requirements are also evolving at a rapid pace.

This results in a higher than ever volume of design workflow requirements and places engineers under greater burdens to deal with all of this data effectively.

In order to enable … Read More “The Benefits of a Common Data Environment for BIM in the Energy & Nuclear Industries”

Model Based Systems Engineering Nuclear

Introducing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in the Nuclear Environment

Companies in the nuclear sector are increasingly being challenged to improve many aspects of their operations. Managers and engineers at all levels are being given difficult objectives such as;

  • Improve existing power generation technologies,
  • Design new systems to improve energy intensity output and reduce energy use of facilities, and
  • Develop innovative solutions that can balance demand, cost and environmental priorities in a changing regulatory climate.

A Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to exchanging engineering information can help contribute to all of these goals, developing more seamless operations that lead to … Read More “Introducing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in the Nuclear Environment”
